This is a beautiful course. It's a challenging course as well. I do not golf my son does. But I do walk the course to explore the grounds. Great driving range and putting area.
It was a stop in the McLennan Ross tour.
Club house is small but charming. Food was good had thw club sandwiche onday amd the next day had breakfast. That was delicious and the prices are right! The staff is very nice.
I loved that each hole had a name
No doubt meaningful to the owners.
I wish the paths were paved and easier on the feet, but that's minor.
I don't know how busy the golf course is on a daily basis, but the only thing I feel needs improvement is their proshop. It's very small, which is ok. It's the quantity and quality of the products missing.
Otherwise, it's a great place to spend the day and golf!
Played in a tournament here today. Great weather made for a great day on the course. Can't wait to bring someone here and show them what a gem it is. Glad this wasn't my ball and ended up being a mushroom
Well put together course, staff is great. They went above and beyond when I explained that due to unforseen circumstances I might be called to leave during the back nine. Expecting fully to pay for a cart just incase I got the call. They understood and as I went to pay the person said " Don't worry about it" and asked how I was enjoying the front 9. That moment, it became my new favorite course. No not because I got a free cart for the back, because they actually cared if I liked the course and how the experience was. After going to many robotic golf courses, it was refreshing to see people really trying to create an experience. Will go again, and will tell others.
July 2023. If you haven't been to The Goose in a couple years you really ought to go. It's been a few years since I played it and, WOW, has it improved.
New carts, old ones were a mixed up mess. Now a nice fleet of Yamaha carts.
Staff in the proshop were friendly and helpful.
Greens are fast, and rather tough. Quite undulating, so I had a few too many 3 putts.
I'd also suggest sticking to a tee box shorter than you usually would. We played Gold and it was a really long 6200 yards it seemed. Lots of carrying over water to greens. Next time I will try blues. That's a more normal white tee box.
Lots of spots where it would really help to know the course better. That resulted in a few more wet balls than ideal. Gotta play it again now that I know some of the hiding spots.
Driving range is very nice and balls were included in your fees. Full head range to boot!
Rates were very reasonable.
Suggestions for the operator:
Drinking water on the course would be a nice touch.
Bit of signage for walkers to know where the walking short cuts are.
18th tee box needs some work. We were pushed back to a very narrow box which didn't have a level spot to hit from.
The course was in great shape. Lots of fun holes with difficult looks. We had an unofficial tournament there and the staff was extremely accommodating.
Course is in amazing shape. I love the character of each hole and the names given to them. Well worth the short trip from the city to play here. I am looking forward to playing again next week .
Really enjoyed this course. I suck at golf so I lost a lot of balls but had a ton of fun. Perhaps get the drinks cart out a bit more frequently, but just a minor point in an otherwise really good time.

The course is finally drying out with the exception of a couple of low areas. The tee boxes are in good condition thanks to the reduced traffic and good growing conditions we have had the past couple of weeks. Now that the fairways have started to dry out they are lush and the ball sits up nicely but the rough is also thick and juicy due to the rapidly growing grass. The greens are getting better but still have a way to go, most still have some winter damage which can be frustrating when you have a put you need to make. I am sure that as summer gets underway the greens will improve and in a couple of weeks they should be in much better condition.
